Green Hydrogen

As the world realizes that fossil fuels - in the form of greenhouse gases - are an increasing problem, Green Hydrogen is coming to the forefront as an environmentally friendly “fuel of the future.” Using renewable biomass, Green Hydrogen is environmentally friendly, and water vapor is the only emission when used as energy.

Production Process & Technologies

H2 Energy Group makes use of biomass-based pyrolysis for the production of Green Hydrogen. Pyrolysis involves the high-temperature thermochemical conversion of solid biomass into hydrogen-rich syngas. The process is oxygen-free with no combustion and therefore no greenhouse gas emissions

This patented technology is:

Sustainable

Costing less than other approaches to Green Hydrogen

Renewable

Uses perpetually available Biomass

Carbon Negative

Biomass absorbs CO2 during growth

Grid-Friendly

H2EG Green Hydrogen facilities make their own electricity and operate independently of the grid – further reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Technically Sound

All processes for H2EG Green Hydrogen production are proven

Green Hydrogen Process

Environmental Benefits

Does not contribute to Greenhouse Gases such as hydrogen made from natural gas

Makes use of biomass, which is a renewable resource

Makes use of biomass, which in forest waste form can mitigate forest fires

Makes use of biomass, which absorbs CO2 during the lifespan, reducing greenhouse gases

Produces biochar as a byproduct, which is an agricultural accelerator and livestock enhancement

With biochar application can protect water tables

Does not require valuable grid electricity – creates own power, operating “behind the meter”

Traditional hydrogen production methods involve either SMR or electrolysis

Applications & Potential Impact

In all cases Green Hydrogen can be substituted for polluting fossil fuels. This includes:

Heavy Transportation

Replacing diesel with Green Hydrogen reduces the CO2 produced by (1) diesel truck over 400 tons/year

Marine Transportation

Cleaner and less expensive than diesel, cruise lines are rapidly moving towards Green Hydrogen to provide their Customers with an environmentally-friendly experience

Aviation

Replacing jet fuel Green Hydrogen reduces one of the most significant contributors to individual carbon footprints

Industry

Replacing traditional, emission-producing, hydrogen with Green Hydrogen reduces emissions in steel production
